Strawberry Country







Wednesday 17 March - trip to Miaoli County, known for its superbly delicious strawberries. Strawberry sausage says it all.

Sausage = Xiang Chang (literally, I'm told, means, frangrant meat
Strawberry = Cao Mei.

Cao Mei Xiang Chang (pronounced, Tsow May Shang Chang.

    does the straberry sausage have meat in it too or is it completely strawberry based?

    did you taste some strawberry wine?

    and what's the sausage taste like. It looks pretty good, but I'll admit the whole idea doesn't set my taste buds to tinglin'

    The sausage did have meat in it. Blythe was like a kid in a candy shop at the strawberry sausage stand!

    Oh I didn't try it! No strawberry sausage for this lady! The strawberries, strawberry wine, strawberry cake, and the strawberry popcorn was all very delicious. I just took Blythe's word on the xiang chang.

    sausage, akin to Jimmy Dean links, but with a subtle hint of strawberries. like a strawberry popsicle, except not sugary or frozen.
