Landscape

I had zero expectations of Taiwan's landscape before I arrived, but I have to say everyday I am amazed. We spent about 3 days in the mountains and a couple of days by the sea. The host family I stayed with the past 3 nights lived near the sea, about 5 minutes from downtown, or what they called the "country". Their housing development is surrounded by the sea, watermelon (xī guā ) fields, and rice fields (which are everywhere here even in the smallest lot in a downtown area with 5 story buildings on either side...pictures to come of that). In my opinion, the luxury of staying in the "country" in Taiwan is the beautiful scenery while jogging.

ps. I think my English is getting worse since I have been here so I apologize for the bad grammar and misspelled words that might occur in my posts.
